Glamour 2 is the alternative to solvent-based varnishes. This water-based product is easy to apply and boosts the archival quality of the print. There is none of the yellowing that solvent-based varnishes might cause. Besides that, the ease of application makes it a cost-effective varnish to select. You might roll it on with a foam roller – you do not even have to apply pressure – or spray it on with a low-pressure spray gun. If needed, you can dilute the product further with distilled water.
Are you thinking of covering a large canvas print? No matter how big the picture is, the water-based varnish dries at a moderate pace, which lets you finish its application before the coating dries. Most importantly, you can also use Glamour 2 with fine art papers. In this latter case, avoid pressure and do not saturate the material. If you are unsure what this means, varnish a practice page until you get the hang of low-pressure applications. You will be surprised how easily the foam roller glides over the art paper!
There is another advantage to the varnish’s water-based makeup. Its moderate drying time is ideally suited for extremely large prints that require self-leveling of the coating. This is not something you get from the quick-drying products that are solvent-based and emit noxious fumes. Simply apply the product by following the directions on the container.
